Jubilee's In With The Out Crowd out for the crowd !

Today the two missing tracks for Jubilee's second release In With The Out Crowd
were made available to the public, via Jubilee's official site.

The complete tracklisting goes as follows :

1. "In With The Out Crowd"
2. "I Don't Have An Excuse I Just Need A Little Help"
3. "Jenny Artichoke"
4. "Pioneers Get Shot With Arrows" (Planet Outer Space Version)

This EP is the first material manifestation of Jubilee's new lineup, that, together with Aaron North and Mike Shuman, features Jeff Lynn on guitars and Troy Boy Petrey on drums.

Two of the tracks, "Jenny Artichoke" and "I Don't Have An Excuse..", feature special guest appearances by Nick Jago, Julian Gross, Maynard James Keenan, and a drumbeat lent by Trent Reznor. It's also Alan Moulder who mixed "I Don't Have An Excuse.."(*)

All other tracks were mixed by Alex Newport; the whole of the EP was engineered and produced by Jubilee and Michael Harris, and mastered by Pete Lyman.

(*) This last convergence of talents is bound to thrill one discerning music fan out of his pants over there in Bolton - a man who, after hearing "The Fool On The Pill" and "Color Me Archaic" in january, knew for certain that Jubilee's fate in rock'n'roll history was to bring industrial music into the twenty-first century. Just don't ask..

In With The Out Crowd released today

These two tracks, not available for individual purchase, are also the first exclusive for the members of the "digital music club", which can be joined through a yearly subscription.

Rebel Hiss video hits the net, 2nd single details surface

Today the waiting for the official Rebel Hiss video has an end...it was well worth it though !

It's compiled from touring footage shot in january in the UK by Travis Keller, who had to take the hard task on himself to squeeze into really tight corners of staircases, to get good close-up angles on guys carrying amplifiers and monitors twice their own body weight...level after level after level... and setting up stages in fast forward...and getting run over and mauled by their own bus...and gobbing into pristine, british backstage rooms...and smashing neon bulbs on dark street corners ?!?

Lots of the additional footage was sent in by amateur filmers from within the audience, so if you pay attention there's little shifts in graininess and pixellation - but all of that just adds to the reality of the live experience captured here. You literally feel the heat, smell the tobacco smoke and the sweat dripping on you from perfect strangers...the guy who edited this video, Brian Giberson, did an impressive job.

Also, the tracklisting for the upcoming second single/ep has been announced.

Jeff Lynn on lead guitar, new management, new booking agents, title of second single is In with the out crowd

Jeff Lynn steps up to replace Evan Weiss on lead guitar in Jubilee. Fringe benefits of his new job include finally getting those custom Stratocaster headstocks with integrated sleigh bells.
A new manager has been appointed as well, Gus Brandt (tour manager and designer of humoristic tour riders with Foo Fighters, NIN, Blink 182, Eminem, Cypress Hill, Weezer) as well as new booking agents at William Morris Agency and at Xray Touring.

The title of the upcoming second Jubilee single is announced to be "In with the out crowd".

Evan Weiss leaves Jubilee

Lead guitarist Evan Weiss leaves Jubilee in what is described as an amicable decision. He has formed a new band Slang Chickens and founded a new religion Psychedelic Judaism....oh - record label, it's a new record label.

Jubilee Digital Music Store goes online

The Jubilee digital music store, designed and hosted by Topspin media, hits the internet. All four songs of the Rebel Hiss e.p. are available for download. Also available is an annual subscription for 19,95$ for which the subscriber will receive the band's entire recording output of that year, plus additional notes, lyrics and media for digital download, 12 editions of the Watchtower, .....hah, got you on that one ! - as well as a special edition vinyl that will be shipped analogue.

First Jubilee live gig, line-up changes, Rebel Hiss single

Jubilee's premier, virginal, debut, never-been-here-before, cherry popping, first time in the history of rock'n'roll ever, live gig takes place tonight at The Barfly, Glasgow. Other dates of the UK tour will take them to:

Tonight is also the first opportunity to purchase the Rebel Hiss 7" on vinyl. It features an alternate mix of Rebel Hiss and also the Replacements cover Androgynous - this limited edition vinyl is hand numbered, it's yellow and it's an UK tour exclusive. And if you pay enough attention...it contains hidden messages !

Plus there's the Rebel Hiss e.p. on cd, tracklisting: Rebel Hiss, The Fool on the Pill, Fuzz are down, L.A (a cover of the Neil Young song.)
Decoding this cd is not as trivial as the vinyl. It requires a bit more of a tech savvy approach: Remove the cd from its outer wrapping and shell, spin it backwards in your microwave at 800V for two minutes, feed the thermofluorescent waves appearing on its surface into a spectrometer (good news, portable ones will do !) thereby translating it into quantitative morse values. These, once dusted off and analyzed, can easily be fed into the field appearing on the left upper corner of the site provided at the bottom page of the cd's inner leaflet: www.buddyhead.com...and Voila !

...at least in a parallel universe where things would have gone awfully wrong. In this universe, thank god, it's still all about great music.

Jubilee myspace streams first songs
